Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How many dogs do we walk at once?

Up to six client dogs per hike

2. How long are the hikes?

The hikes are 1.5 – 2 hours on the trails. The length of the hike depends on the weather and the dogs’ activity level that day.

3. What areas do you provide the dogwalking service?

We do pick-up and drop-off in North Burnaby, East Vancouver and Port Moody.  Happy Dogs dogwalkers are professional and experienced at going onto movie studio lots such as Vancouver Film Studios, The Bridge Studios, Mammoth Studios and all other studios in the North Burnaby area, to provide pick-up and drop-off service to film industry workers who bring their dogs to work.

Our pick up and drop off area is:

all of North Burnaby,

East Vancouver: from Boundary west to Victoria and South to Grandview Hwy, and North to the ocean

South Burnaby: from Boundary East to North Rd, South to Canada Way and North to cover all of North Burnaby

Port Moody: all of Port Moody

4. Where do you take the dogs?

The dogs get to enjoy trails in Port Moody and Coquitlam. We have our own trails that are not frequented by many people, or a lot of other dog walkers, so that your dog may run around and get their sillies out without worry of interruptions by strange people.  Our trails are also located down a very low traffic private road and we pull right off the road so unloading and loading the dogs in the van is as safe as possible.

5. Are there any requirements for dogs to join the Happy Dogs hikes?

Yes, dogs must be well socialized and dog friendly to go on our hikes.  Also, all dogs over the age of 8 months old must be spayed or neutered.  All dogs must be up to date on their vaccines or titre tested.

More Info:

Happy Dogs is an Environmentally Conscious Company!

We do our best to be Green by using smaller minivans that get good gas mileage, only using biodegradable poop bags, keeping our trails clean by removing garbage we find, and emailing invoices when possible!

Please make sure your dogs have current dog tags on their collars.  We are happy to provide your dog with a Happy Dogs tag by request, while they are boarding with us or until you can update your dog’s tag.

Tip: my dogs’ tags only say “Needs Meds Call ASAP” and my number.  If people are reading my dogs’ tags all they need to know is my phone number and to call ASAP!!  (and no one wants to keep a dog they find that needs meds!)

Overnight Boarding:

Dove is happy to provide overnight boarding at her home for Happy Dogs clients only.  (Sorry, we do not offer boarding to dogs that do not hike with us.)

Overnight rates are: for one dog: $28 /24 hrs, including 1 hike, or $168 /week, including all hikes (7th day is free!)

for two dogs: $50 /24 hrs, including 1 hike for both dogs, or $300 /week, including all hikes (7th day is free!)
